The uArm Swift Pro is a programmable robotic arm. You can create 3D prints with it, cut through metal with laser cutter or simply carry out everyday activities, such as gripping. With the help of the Leap Motion Sensor, you can also control the uArm with your own hand.

TECHNICAL BRIEFING

Gadget operation

1. Attach the suction cup to the end of the robotic arm.
2. Connect it to the supplied power pack.
3. Connect the uArm to your laptop via USB.
4. Start the uArmStudio up on your laptop.
5. Press the red on/off button on the uArm.

uArmStudio offers various options for operating the uArm.

  • “Blocky” allows you to program with the help of a simple block programming language for the uArm.
  • With “Control” the uArm can be controlled via your keyboard.
  • With “Teach & Play” you can quickly and easily teach the uArm movement sequences.

Use Cases

How to control the uArm with hand movement:
1. Connect the Leap Motion Controller to your laptop via USB.
2. Place the Leap Motion in front of you with the green LED facing you.
3. Set the uArrm up as described under “operation.”
4. Select “Leap Motion” in uArmStudio.
5. Hold one hand over the Leap Motion Controller and start the program by pressing the space bar.
6. You can now more your hand to the left, right, up, down and so on. The uArm will then imitate the movement.
7. To activate the suction cup, clench your hand to a fist.
